This beer was aged for 16 months in Heaven Hill's bourbon barrels then conditioned on toasted coconut for 6 weeks.
When served cold, the initial aromas are of the oak and barrel. The toasted coconut adds to the sweetness and viscosity of the beer, making it thick and fudgy. As the beer warms, the coconut really starts to stand out and mix into the aroma and taste. At 12% alcohol by volume, we definitely recommend sipping this one slowly and enjoying the complexity in the taste as it warms to room temp.
